Bill Gates Digs Plant Based Eggs, Whattt???!?!

Yep, theres word on the street of a plant based egg in the science lab/kitchen of a business in San Francisco, CA. CEO/Founder, Josh Tetrick is the man behind it all, reppin' his new business, Hampton Creek, he's set himself on an epic quest to make a positive change in the way we eat by making it healthier and cheaper than what his products are mimicking.

Tetrick saw the damage being done by egg industry and couldn't stand it anymore. All the gas and manure polluting the air and water, the health on society, it was driving him MAD! Then he created Hampton Creek and starting thinking about the egg's value to us. Texture, flavor and versatility. Now he has assembled a team of some badass scientists, engineers and chefs, one of which was a contestant on Top Chef. Tetrick has the line up, but needs the cash to pay off his healthy hitmen.

Josh went around to investment firms to telling his idea to them in hopes that they would be willing to throw some fast cash his way. In 2011, after some trial and tribulation, Khosla Ventures thought it was worth a shot and gave him $500,000 to get him started. Josh was excited and gathered his team to get started. His first egg-based victim was Mayo, and he instantly started looking for ways to get eggs out of it. After vigorous testing and testing, they gave regular mayonnaise an all natural back hand and created Just Mayo, booyah bitch!!! Not only does Just Mayo taste like the real thing, it is just as cheap or cheaper than it too(Available at Whole Foods Market). Tetrick's Just Mayo got the attention of dudes with some of the fattest wallets in the world like Bill Gates and Hong Kong's Li Ka-Shing with his investment firm, Horizons Ventures, and they are interesting in giving Mr. Tetrick a helping hand. They see a huge potential in his concept of bringing replica foods that look, taste and are cheaper than popular foods today. Oh shit, investor from Hong Kong?? This has potential.

In 2012, Khosla Ventures caught word about the hot shots that were checking out Hampton Creek and, to mark their territory, invested $1.5 MILLION! Tetrick and his team instantly got to work and pulled the trigger on cookie dough. They noticed that on most packages it says to not eat raw cookie dough, because you're SUPPOSE to eat the baked cookie. Everyone knows cookie dough is the shit, including Hampton Creek and they ended up shooting regular ass cooking dough in the face with their new product Eat The Dough. Unfortunately it hasn't made it to the shelves on any grocery store, but its on it's way along with another hot shot product that is going to mind fuck the shit out of modern society...

Hampton Creek was getting well known and in February of 2014 had managed to raise 23 MILLION FUCKING DOLLARS from some chill ass investors. Of course Hampton Creek's sugar daddie (or momma, sorry ladies:)) contributed, also Hong Kong's Li Ka-Shing finally jumped on the healthy bandwagon, as well as people from Yahoo! and Google. With the cash, Tetrick is now attempting to create a plant based scrambled egg. They are getting close, but the flavor still needs some work. They are learning how proteins work and have found some plant proteins that coagulate the same as egg protein in yellow peas and sorghum. They have a good start and it is estimated that Eat The Dough and the plant-based egg are to release in 2015, hell yeah!

This is some straight up evil vegan genius shit right here. Josh T is attempting to make Veganism a possibility to people who have completely turned down the idea. If you show people there are vegan food alternatives that are deeply rooted in a culture, then veganism can seem that much more sexy to them and hopefully turn them on.
